Professional Experience and Areas of Concentration
Eric M. Kirby, an associate, practices in the firm's litigation department. Prior to joining Montgomery Little Soran & Murray, Mr. Kirby clerked with United States Magistrate Judge Craig B. Shaffer and worked for two years as a deputy clerk in the civil division for the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Mr. Kirby also clerked with the United States Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C.
While in law school, Eric served as a student advocate representing low income clients in a wide array of civil matters, including contract disputes and landlord-tenant issues. He also assisted clients with their estate planning needs.
Since joining Montgomery Little Soran & Murray, Mr. Kirby's practice has focused primarily on construction litigation, professional liability defense and insurance defense. His practice also includes estate planning, commercial law, business law and real estate.
Mr. Kirby is licensed to practice in both the Colorado and the Utah state courts as well as the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the District of Utah. He is a member of the Arapahoe County, Denver County, Central Utah, Salt Lake County, Colorado and Utah Bar Associations.
Eric speaks fluent Spanish and in April 2007 he received a Diploma de Espanol de los Negocios (Spanish Diploma in Business) from the Universidad de Alcala y La Camara Oficial de Comercio e Industria de Madrid. Eric is currently pursuing an LL.M. in taxation.
