Kara Knowles Educational Background
2000 Juris Doctor Loyola University School of Law 1997 B.A. Emory University Political Science Professional Experience and Areas of Concentration Kara Knowles practices in the firm's litigation department. She joined the firm in 2001 and became a shareholder in 2007. Ms. Knowles' litigation practice has focused on insurance defense issues, including: representation of hospitals, physicians, and nurses in professional liability actions; motor vehicle accidents; products liability; and premises liability. Since joining the firm, Ms. Knowles has tried three complex medical malpractice cases to verdict. Ms. Knowles also specializes in appellate law. Recently, Ms. Knowles has been responsible for appellate briefing in areas such as the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, Workers' Compensation Act, insurance coverage, jury instruction, and jury verdicts. She is licensed to practice law in Colorado and Illinois as well as corresponding Federal District Courts.
