Bill Searfoorce is a shareholder who joined Montgomery Little Soran & Murray in August 2000. His practice emphasizes construction litigation and professional liability defense.
Bill represents design professionals who provide services to the construction industry, including architects, engineers and land surveyors. His cases involve a variety of construction projects, such as residential, commercial, public works and mixed use. He also represents owners, developers, contractors and subcontractors, and understands their unique perspectives in the building process. As a natural outgrowth of this work, clients frequently ask him to draft and revise service agreements and construction contracts.
Bill came to the firm after serving 4½ years as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for prosecuting the city's major crimes. Through daily appearances in court, he tried hundreds of misdemeanor and felony judge trials and 20 felony jury trials. In 1999, Bill was one of two prosecutors selected to oversee the grand jury investigation and prosecution of a 31 defendant multi-state burglary ring, coordinating his efforts with the FBI and US Attorneys' Office.
Bill is active in the legal community as a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association and the Colorado Defense Lawyers' Association. Bill has also volunteered his time to organizations such as Metro Volunteers Lawyers Pro Bono Network and Habitat for Humanity, and routinely speaks at continuing education seminars for design professionals. He is a contributor to The Practitioner's Guide to Colorado Construction Law.
Bill is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Pennsylvania, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and several U.S. District Courts.
