Michael J. Decker Educational Background
1998 Juris Doctor Chicago-Kent College of Law with honors 1995 B.A. Valparaiso University Political Science Professional Experience and Areas of Concentration Mike Decker is a shareholder and an experienced litigation attorney whose practice specializes in construction law. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Decker worked for one of the country's largest insurance companies as the primary attorney responsible for the defense of construction claims in the State of Colorado. He has acted as lead counsel in over 75 construction defect actions. He currently represents both design professionals and trade contractors. Although his practice focuses on construction litigation, Mr. Decker has also successfully represented clients in cases involving products liability, personal injury and commercial law. Mr. Decker is admitted to the Colorado Bar, United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Several of his appellate cases have been selected for publication by the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Colorado. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association and the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. He is a contributing author to The Practitioner's Guide to Colorado Construction Law and often speaks to trade and professional groups regarding Colorado construction law.
