Mary Kay Ackley Mary Kay Ackley received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Metropolitan State College in 1973. Between 1979 and 1984, she taught English at the secondary level in the Denver Public Schools. Since joining Montgomery Little Soran & Murray as a paralegal in 1984, she has specialized in litigation, primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, and employment. She assists in the drafting of pleadings and case management documents, including complaints, answers, motions, written discovery requests and responses, as well as disclosure certificates and other such documents required by the rules of civil procedure. Ms. Ackley organizes and summarizes medical records, prepares medical chronologies used in complex medical and personal injury litigation, and capsulizes deposition testimony and discovery documents. She maintains constant client contact, locates and interviews expert and lay witnesses, and assists with trial preparation, as in the preparation of trial notebooks, scheduling of witnesses, organization of documents and exhibits, and coordination of courtroom activities for counsel. Her services as a paralegal are essential to the efficient and cost-effective management of the complex litigation with which she assists.
