Fred Skillern and Echo Ryan Appellate Victory

Appeal:  Fred Skillern and Echo Ryan won an appellate victory for our client, United General Title Insurance Company, in its appeal of a jury verdict entered against it in the Arapahoe County District Court.  The Court of Appeals reversed the trial court’s judgment awarding the policy holder damages of $250,000. The court concluded that the Plaintiff failed to show that lost profits were a foreseeable consequence of a breach of a residential title insurance policy, and that there was insufficient evidence to uphold the jury’s verdict.  The case was remanded  to the trial court for an award of nominal damages.  Read More: Opinion-01-17-13.pdf.
