Biography

James C. Taravella is an attorney with Montgomery Little & Soran. Mr. Taravella is licensed to practice in Colorado. His practice is a mix of transactional and commercial litigation with an emphasis on the finance and venture/private equity industries and corporate/business law.

Mr. Taravella attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and graduated in 2020 with a certificate in corporate and commercial law. He was also a Staff Editor for the Race to the Bottom Blog and was the Lead Partner and a founding member of the Pioneer Venture Group, a student-run early-seed venture fund. Before law school, Mr. Taravella acquired a Master of Science in Applied Quantitative Finance in 2016 from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business.

During law school, Mr. Taravella gained significant legal experience through internships at Gates Corporation, the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, MarkWest Energy, SRS Acquiom through a year-long transactional clinic at the school.

Mr. Taravella is a native of Colorado and a dual Irish-American citizen. He earned a degree in finance and international business, with distinction, from the University of Denver in 2015. While at DU, Mr. Taravella was Chief Editor of the school’s business newspaper, was on various club sports teams, and was an active Beta Theta Pi Fraternity member. He continues to serve the fraternity as a mentor and advisor to the local chapter. In his off time, he plays competitive tennis and enjoys exploring the beautiful state of Colorado with his camera and his husky.
